It’s that time again – welcome back to this month’s Church Support Hub newsletter. Before you read any further, change is afoot! We will be welcoming a new colleague at the beginning of June – an exciting time for our small Hub team. Expect to see some changes to the layout soon, making it simpler for you to navigate and a bit more user‑friendly.

A new reflection campaign centred around pilgrimage
From 25th May to 20th June, the Everyday Faith app will be sharing a series entitled Pilgrim Places, Holy Lives. The readings and reflections will explore eight places which were important in the spread of Christianity in England, and the stories of the saints who lived there. Authors include Archbishop Sarah Mullally and Archbishop Stephen Cottrell, and accompanying resources are available.

Growing Faith Research Conference

Join the Growing Faith Foundation for an inspiring day for everyone who wants to put children and young people even closer to the heart of all we do in church, home and school – especially where those spheres overlap. With a strong emphasis on the voice and agency of young people, the day will include young people from Growing Faith Hub teams and elsewhere leading worship and sharing their experiences. There will also be a chance to catch up with the cutting edge 2026 Growing Faith research into music and faith.

The Foundry Learning Community
The Foundry Learning Community from Parenting for Faith is an online space designed to support church leaders, children’s, youth and families’ leaders as they grow in confidence, wisdom and practical skills for helping children and young people develop a deep, lasting faith.
Through monthly online gatherings, The Foundry offers a rhythm of encouragement and development that fits alongside busy church life. The next Foundry cohort starts 3 Dec 2026 and takes place online, making it accessible wherever you are.

Messy Churches in areas of need
As part of our funding from the Church of England, it has been a joy to see brand new Messy Churches being planted in areas of need. We know that many Messy congregations are thriving in areas of need due to it being informal in nature, and as a result removing many of the barriers that can potentially prevent families from engaging with traditional church.
We recently captured the experiences of the Messy Church congregation at St. Mark’s Messy Church Downham, south-east London, an estate parish in one of the 10% poorest parishes in England. Watch the film and hear their joys and challenges, and how they have empowered their community to shape their Messy Church.
