Are you called to sport ministry training?

If you’re interested in ministry training and are inspired by the effectiveness of sport as a context for sharing Jesus, formal sports ministry training may be for you

FOR ANYONE WANTING TO SET up bigger sports projects or focus their ministry on sport outreach, the theological college, Ridley Hall, in Cambridge, offers specialist training. Read on to see whether specialist courses at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, could be what you’re looking for.

Ridley Hall has recently developed a new online ministry-based training programme, Faith Plus/Ridley Award.

It has been designed for dioceses and sport ministry organisations that want to develop and train their volunteers or to further inspire those showing some interest in sport and wellbeing ministry. It also provides a good foundation for those wishing to go on to study sports ministry.

It uses theological reflective practice and focuses on ministry and mission to help support life-long discipleship within the context of sport and wellbeing ministry.

The Award has 18 sessions, each with a podcast, relevant learning activities and reflections that feed into regular engagement with a ‘community of practice’ which meets in person. Currently, it costs £100 per licence.

Ridley Hall also has a Sports Ministry Course where sport ministers can get in depth training and the skills needed to run local sports ministry projects.

Contact Robin Barden at Ridley in the first instance for more information and to explore how you could collaborate with Ridley to help you develop your team.
