How to use editorial to support faith at home

Free, professionally written articles for you to share in parish magazines, on your website, social media accounts or newsletter

MAINTAINING CONTACT WITH FAMILIES AFTER a baptism is crucial to supporting them in the ongoing journey. One way to reach them might be through your parish magazine, website, social media accounts or e-newsletter to publicise special services, or simply offer fun ways of supporting a child’s faith at home.

The professionally-written pieces given under the headings below are available to share and use in these ways. The articles are carefully edited to ensure suitability for the intended readership – families with young children. Contributors are the Revd Ally Barrett and Margaret Pritchard-Houston, both experienced writers, well-known and respected in Christian publishing.

There is no charge for using this editorial – the content is a free gift, but check the terms of use below.

Practicalities

How to extract text from web pages for use in printed materials
  1. Open the web page you want to copy.
  2. Drag your cursor over the text of the page to select it, (don’t worry if you can’t avoid selecting images too).
  3. Right click and choose ‘copy’ from the menu, or, choose ‘copy’ from the ‘Edit’ menu at the top of your screen.
  4. Open Notes, OneNote or a similar note-taking app and paste the text there – this will clear out most of the formatting and any images that you may have selected from the web page.
  5. Select all the text again, convert it all to a standard body text – this should remove any remaining formatting. You can now copy and paste this ‘clean’ text into your usual publishing software and re-format it as you wish.
