Inclusion and belonging for those with invisible illnesses

Penny Pullan explores living with hidden disabilities in church, feeling valued, and how churches can improve engagement and accessibility in this webinar

PROFESSIONAL RESEARCHER PENNY PULLAN PRESENTS the results of her study into whether people with invisible illnesses and hidden disabilities within the church experience a sense of belonging and inclusion.

She explores themes around the challenges of living with an invisible illness while trying to still play a full and active part in the life of the local church. Her respondents testify to whether they feel seen and valued in themselves, for who they are rather than what they do. She also suggests ways that churches can engage positively with this theme and improve accessibility.
