Engaging families and young people through Messy Church
Wednesday 4 March 2026, 12-1pm
A creative, Christ-centred way to grow worshipping communities and engage all ages
MESSY CHURCH IS A WAY of being a church that is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration. The concept has been around for 21 years and is a tried and tested way of engaging people who might not normally come to church, taking them on an intergenerational discipleship journey together.
In this webinar, you will hear about the Messy Church core values and how the model can be adapted to a variety of contexts, locations and church traditions. We’ll be hearing from clergy and Messy Church leaders who will share their experiences of Messy Church in areas of deprivation, a rural context and in a school setting.
We’ll also be busting myths around what Messy Church is and isn’t, including the question: how many people does it take to run a Messy Church? Finally, we’ll touch on recent developments including Messy Church Goes Wild and our new Messy Momentum project that seeks to engage young people as they grow-up in Messy Church.
Find out your next steps to getting started with your Messy Church new worshipping community.
