The Godparents’ Sunday service helps to celebrate the very special godparent/godchild relationship. This sample service can be used when there are families and children present, or it could equally be used to recognize and encourage all those in the congregation who are godparents/godchildren themselves, perhaps over many years. The outline can be used for a Eucharist, but could also be adapted for a Service of the Word. The liturgy itself is timeless, but as the whole service was designed to take place on May 6th 2018, the recommended lectionary readings and authorized collect will need to be changed to reflect the date you use it on.
