Generosity in Action: ministry around the BBC Children in Need Appeal

The Revd Sandra Millar, Head of Life Events

One of the recurrent memories of my childhood is doing things for charity – saving milk bottle tops for Blue Peter; putting coins in a Barnardo’s ‘whirlpool’ donation box, making cakes for a cake sale at school, and more.

Each year BBC Children in Need raises millions of pounds – and children and families get involved, find out about others, and by being involved, they get to be generous, kind and creative. In 2018, the fundraising event is on Friday, November 16th.

Each day, Children in Need supports lots of programmes, organisations and resources that help families to flourish in our communities. So it’s also a great time to find out how Children in Need is touching those around your parish.

Mentioning, praying for and acknowleging local events and activities is a great way for churches to show they care about the things that matter to families and children .
